My name is Elizabeth Herman and I was the recipient of the Houston Airport Interfaith Chapels scholarship award in 2005. Being given the privilege of receiving this financial support, had a huge impact on the beginning of my academic future.
The career I chose wasn’t going to be an easy one, especially when it came to financial aid for this program. I was accepted into the Physical Therapy Assistant program. I earned my degree in Applied Science and later became a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. The grueling and time consuming hours of school/clinical rotations, left me with very little time to work outside of school. If it weren’t for this scholarship award, I wouldn’t have been able to afford the required financial expenses to complete this program and become a working Physical Therapy Assistant.
I will be eternally grateful to the Houston Airport Interfaith Chapels for graciously awarding me this very generous and much needed financial support. Thank you to Pastor Brett Jones and fellow board members for their generosity which made my dream become a reality.
